Some engagement sessions feel like a photoshoot.
This one felt like wandering through a daydream.
Lezah and Dario wanted their engagement photos to feel natural, romantic, and a little wild. Think cottage core energy meets Northern California foothills. Open fields, winding trails, golden light, climbing hills, laughing mid-walk, and letting the moment lead instead of a shot list.
We spent the evening exploring Nevada City the way locals do. Moving slowly. Chasing light. Letting the landscape do what it does best while these two simply showed up as themselves.

Nevada City is one of my favorite places to photograph couples, especially for engagement sessions that lean romantic and editorial without feeling forced. You get rolling fields, textured trees, mountain backdrops, and that soft, cinematic light that makes everything feel a little timeless.
Lezah and Dario leaned all the way into it. Cozy but elevated. Playful but grounded. Romantic without trying too hard. The kind of session where we’re walking, talking, climbing, twirling, and suddenly we’re laughing because the camera almost disappears.
This is always the goal.

Engagement sessions are about way more than photos for your save the dates or website. They’re about connection.
It’s where we get to slow down together before the wedding whirlwind begins. You learn how I guide. I learn how you move together. You get comfortable, confident, and fully yourselves in front of the camera.
By the time the wedding day arrives, it doesn’t feel like a stranger documenting your love. It feels like a friend who already knows how to capture you at your best.

From engagement session to Nevada City wedding
